Injustice, a very familiar word in our society. It reflects the disbalance of the community. The sense of injustice is a universal human feature, though the exact circumstances considered unjust can vary from culture to culture. Discrimination is also a form of injustice when you face nepotism.
Sometimes the sense of injustice can be a powerful motivational condition, causing people to act not just to defend themselves but also others who they perceive to be unfairly treated. In our society Injustice within legal or societal standards is referred to as a two-tiered system. When we look at social justice, it is all about equality. To be socially just, every individual must be treated equitably and fairly by society. In our society, we face Poverty and economic injustice. Ironically when it comes to the gnawing gap between the rich and poor, there is a resigned indifference. This difference creates a massive gap in our legal system of justice. We face injustice in almost every medium of normal life lack of knowledge of our fundamental rights.
Society is equally responsible for this disbalance as we never take responsibility to improve our actions towards others. Nowadays discrimination commonly accepted as no one takes a stand against it. “MIGHT IS RIGHT” would the best example of our society where the rich can divert law and justice in their favor where the poor can only depend on the resources of the state.
In Pakistan, yes state is truly responsible to provide justice but by agreeing to this we avoid our responsibilities towards society. We can be a victim of discrimination or injustice at any stage of life. Allah helps those who help themselves. We blame Government and others, but have we contributed our share to improve our legal and justice system?
Covid-19 exposes the flaws of our society’s economy clearly where the rich became richer and the poor dragged down the ladder to the point of misery. Where people lost their jobs during this pandemic, the industrialists and cooperate sector made billions. This forced the poor to adopt the wrong means of income thus adding to the crime rate. Police can play a vital role by imposing a law that is the same for everyone.
NGO’s and Organizations should play a vital role in spreading awareness against injustice so that people can stand up for each other. Badlay Gaa Pakistan will be the voice for victims of injustice in every medium of life and provide them a chance to share their experiences with society. We believe that our society can be changed only when we all contribute to making it better.
